>I would also like to recomend that you put the word out in the bulletin that you need "roaster ovens" and crock pots to be used and delivered to the church 1 week in advance. My roaster oven comes in sooooo handy for church stuff. You have to remember that it is an oven and food keeps cooking so turn LOW monitor!
of course I do not mean for you to put these out on the table but to use in the kitchen to serve from
>What about asking the ladies of the church to donate 2 loaves of their favorite "tea" or Quick bread. You wrap & freese til party time then use a slicing system to slice and sever on nice trays. I say slicing system because I love mine it is a presto slicing system, it has an electric knife and a bread slicing guide that does 12 slices.
>Assign the servers one area to keep up. 2 for the punch cooffe area (try to match the person with the job non-coffee drinkers should not be incharge of coffee) and 2 ladies to "float" and give assistance as needed. Let everyone know who the floaters are so that they will not be ofended if she brings them somthing or they know who to hollar help to :)
>Keep well intentioned out of the kitchen! You'll have enough help. A little sign would be in order, something like "we appriecate your desire to help but please jsut enjoy the party!" or similar
>Make sure you have water out for folks so they don't need the kitchen! theat is a big draw to a busy kitchen. Put the no need for help word out early at your church so folks understand and are not hurt.
>Use the club stores
>PRAY long and hard with workers, keep informed this a time of stress and we know how that can turn things bad
>seperate beverage and dessert and food tables
>Keep a smile on board
>check and clear out kitchen of extra nonesence the day before, you don't need Bibles and hymnals lurking in corners with lost and found
>Order a cake from Sams or Price-costco cheap & easy. BRING cake knives
>look at the idea below given for the 100 person party
>look at the easy punch ideas on the orignal message board, soda & koolaid would be easy too. NO RED though!
>buy plastic table covers in a roll. Tape in place with a "roll of tape on the underside of the cloth but topside of the table, too hard to tape to bottomside of table
>Leave Napkins in plastic they come in carfully slice 1/2 cellophane away so that the balance is like a holder
>better yet get the little girls club (3rd grade chior?)to roll the plastic ware in a napkin and tie with ribbon, place in a basket at the END of buffet, let the girls keep filled. Give them plenty of time for the project. DO maybe 50-100 extra, you'll use up someday at another function.
>send pans home unwashed? could ya?
I'll think of more I'm sure
Good luck!
