Keetha-

My mother use to serve a picnic sandwich which might fill your requirements. She would take a round loaf of bread and slice it horizontally into four layers. Then she would vary the filling. One layers was always egg salad,. another was chicken or ham salad and the third a pimento spread with sliced meat (?) ham- roast beef - bacon. I really don't remember. This was something she did during the 50's and I was a little kid. I remember that she cut it in wedges like a cake. I also remember that she said the fillings needed to have a good color contrast so that it looked pretty. She may have included lettuce and tomatoes and that kind of thing if the sandwich didn't have to sit too long. Knowing my mom, she probably put in it what ever she wanted or had. I do remember that my brothers and I thought it was neat. It was a Sunday afternoon thing when we had company. I have no idea of how many people it would serve. I think she served it with chips, some kind of salad and watermelon slices for dessert. Hope that gives you some ideas.
