In order to help you to make the proper decisions, you should tell us if the reception will in the late morning or perhaps early afternoon or could it be early evening. The food that is served is very different in these "Times Of The Day". You may display your food buffet style but do you have the apparatus for it. Do you know where to rent it & operate it? Will you have help in preparing all this food? Trust me on this with all that will be happening the next day you will not be your usual self, you will need help!!
Some foods like potato salad can be made 2 to 4 days ahead of time & be better for it.
