I have a Ronco Popiel and it is REALLY THICK plastic except for the Cutter which is NOT a necessary part, I can't imagine it breaking but then I might not use as much as you may but I tell you it is THICK!! the dies too. I would think that plastic is good for it not to rust inside the holes ...
