I have had a Breadman since 1996 and love it. I have found that 2 tsps of the bread machine yeast works for almost all recipes. Here's one that turns out perfect every time. I seldom have to add more flour or water. I do use bread machine flour although the original recipe does not call for it.
Basic Whole Wheat Bread
1/3 honey 1 1/3 cups water 2 Tbsp veg oil or butter, at room temp. 1 1/2 tsp salt 3 Tbsp nonfat dry milk 3 cups whole wheat bread machine flour 1/2 cup white bread machine flour 1/3 cup cornmeal 3 tsp Lora Brody's Bread Dough Enhancer or 2T gluten (I use Gluten) 2 tsp bread machine yeast
I have used just the basic 1 1/2 pound cycle and it turns out fine.
