Thank You. This helps alot. I wish I knew the "methodology" of all this and why different bread makers list different orders for adding ingredients but why fight perfection? Oddly enough, my neighbor who also has a B&D - but a different model, gave me his favorite recipe. The yeast is added right on top of the milk as the last ingredient. It completely blows the theory about not getting the yeast wet! I made it following his instructions and it came out fabulous! Go figure!! Here it is...
NINE GRAIN BREAD
1 3/4 cups white flour 1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 3 tablespoons olive oil 3 tablespoons honey 1/2 cup nine grain cereal ( found in the baking section of your supermarket) 1/4 cup sunflower seeds (raw or roasted, but unsalted) 1/4 cup poppy seeds 1 1/2 cups milk 1 1/4 teaspoon yeast
My machine is a Black and Decker.
Measure ingredients in the order listed into the Baking Pan. Select: Whole Grain Setting.
