DOUBLE-GARLIC POTATO BREADMake 1 1/2 pound recipe with bread machines that use 3 cups, or make 2 pound recipe with bread machines that use 4 cups flour. Slightly less yeast is needed in the 2 pound recipe than is needed in the 1 1/2 pound recipe.
FOR A 1 1/2 POUND LOAF:1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
3 cups Gold Medal Better for Bread flour
2/3 cup mashed potato mix seasoned with roasted garlic (dry)*
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 1/2 teaspoons Fleischmann's bread machine yeast
FOR A 2 POUND LOAF:1 1/4 cups water
3 tablespoons butter or margarine -- softened
1 egg
4 cups Gold Medal Better for Bread flour
2/3 cup mashed potato mix seasoned with roasted garlic (dry)*
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons Fleischmann's bread machine yeast
Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
Select Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color. Do not use Delay cycle. Remove baked bread from pan; cool on wire rack.
*Substitution: Use unflavored mashed potato mix and increase the garlic powder to 1/2 teaspoon.
Yield: 1 1/2 pound loaf = 12 slices, 2 pound loaf = 16 slices
