: DONAIRS I

Sauce:
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp garlic powder

The evaporated milk must be well chilled before
making the sauce. Beat the milk until it is stiff, add the
sugar and vinegar. Beat again until stiff. Serve
immediately.

Donairs:

1 kilogram ground beef
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tsp oregano
1 cup cracker crumbs
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
2-3 tsp garlic

Mix and bake as you would a meatloaf.

To serve, slice meat thinly, place in pita bread. Top
with sauce, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, banana
pepper rings,lettuce.

For a lower-calorie version, use lean hamburger,
skim evaporated milk and cut back on the sugar.


DONAIRS II

Sauce:
1/2 large can evaporated milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar

Beat evaporated milk, which has been well chilled
until it is stiff. Add remaining ingredients and serve at once.

Donairs:
1 kilogram lean ground beef
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp onion salt
1 tsp salt
1 to 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup fine bread crumbs

Mix all ingredients together and shape into rolls.

Place on a wire rack and bake so that the drippings
fall through rather than the meat sitting in its juice. Bake at
325F for 90 minutes. Serve in pita with sauce, tomatoes and
onions.
