Similar to your dishwasher saga, but mine was with my new jacuzzi tub! I put in some bubble bath, turned on the jets and relaxed so much I fell asleep.

Woke up to bubbles and soap over the entire room. It looked like a '50's movie, but I had to clean it up--not a movie crew!
