Recipe(tried): The Mirage Vanilla Bean Sauce (for Mirage Bread Pudding)
Desserts - Puddings, Gelatin In reply to Sarah who made the Mirage bread pudding. I have made it myself and it is not complete without their famous Vailla Bean Sauce. The recipe is as follows:
6 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. milk
1 c. heavy cream
1 vanilla bean scraped
Combine milk, heavy cream, vanilla bean in saucepot and bring to a boil. In a separate bowl, whisk yolks and sugar until combined. Once cream has boiled, pour 1 cup of the hot liquid into the yolk and sugar mixture. Bring remaining cream to a boil. Once the cream is boiling, whisk yolk, sugar, and cream mixture into the boiling cream. Cook on low until sauce coats the back of a spoon. Strain, cool, serve.
