Caramel Chocolate Pie Supreme

1 1/2 cups pecan sandie cookies, crushed
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
30 vanilla caramels
2 Tbsp butter or margarine
2 Tbsp water
1/2 cup pecans, chopped, toasted
2 pkgs (3 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup confectioner's sugar
1 bar (4 oz) sweet cooking chocolate
3 Tbsp hot wter
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups whipped cream
2 Tbsp confectioners sugar

Mix pecan sandie cookies and 1/4 cup butter together and press into side and bottom of a pie plate. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove and let cool. Cook caramels, margarine and 2 Tbsp water over medium heat, stirring constantly until caramels are melted. Pour into crust and sprinkle with pecans..Refrigerate for a hour or until chilled.

Beat cream cheese and 1/3 cup confectioners sugar until smooth. Spread over caramel layer, refrigerate. Heat chocolate and 3 Tbsp hot wter over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted. Stir in vanilla. Beat whipping cream and 2 Tbsp confectioners sugar in chilled medium bowl until stiff. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of this mixture and mix chocolate mixture into remaining whipped cream. Spread over cream cheese mixture..Top with reserved whipped cream. Garnish with chocoate curls. Refrigerate pie for at least 1 hour before serving. Refrigerate any remaining left overs
