I made the recipe on the web for the Olive Garden's Lemon Cream Cake and I agree that it isn't even close to what is served at the Olive Garden. I was thinking that the Olive Garden's version tastes like it contains cream cheese, but now that you mention it, I agree that it is most likely moscarpone cheese. Also, the cake is much lighter and smoother than that in the recipe.
