CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER CLIF-TYPE BARS
1 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup natural sugar 1/2 cup rice syrup 1/3 cup soy margarine 2 tsp vanilla extract 3 1/3 cups rolled oats 1/2 cup coconut flakes 1/2 cup chopped peanuts 1/2 cup raisins 1/2 cup chocolate chips or carob chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, stir together the nut butter, margarine, sugar, syrup, and vanilla until smooth.
Add all the other ingredients. Mix well. Press the mixture into 13 x 9 inch greased pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool on wire rack. Cut into bars. For packing, wrap well.
