I, too, love these wonderful little muffin gems! I have also tried to reproduce them with little luck.
I just got back from a Christmas show where the owner of the company was there.
He was telling the group why they were so expensive. He said that a "batch" of them took 18lbs of brown sugar, 4 lbs of butter, 18 eggs plus flour and vanilla and salt.

I know this isnt much to go on but I thought it might help if you get brave enough to try to invent a batch again.
Please let us know if you have them turn out.
