My husband is a Van Nuys boy, born & bred, & loved the Cupid's hot dogs. His godparents' son owned the one on Victory Blvd. across from Central Lutheran. Alas, it burned down & there's a small mall there now. But there are many more around; we even have one up here in Palmdale. Tim, your suggestion for the Hormel Chili no beans is right on. That's what we use when we need a Cupid fix & can't afford the $50 it takes to feed this entire family. We get the snappy dogs from Ralphs. It's their store brand homemade deli style dogs (I can't remember the exact name of them). You find them in the deli section, usually not anywhere near the prepackaged dogs. The kids have commented that they look like thumbs. You'll see what I mean when you see them. Someday someone will decode the ingredients. We knew about the carrots & the cornmeal but couldn't figure out the rest.
