Melt 1/4 c bacon drippings in a large skillet. Add 6 prepared tart apples (peeled & sliced),1/4 c brown sugar,1/2 t salt,1 t cinnamon, 1 t nutmeg to skillet. Cover and cook 15-20 minutes over low heat(stir gently now and then) until tender and juicy, until juice is slightly thickened.
