CHERRY COOKIES
1 3/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 cup sugar 1 cup shortening 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/3 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
Sift flour and salt together; set aside.
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Stir in flour mixture. Add vanilla and cherries. Chill.
WHEN READY TO BAKE: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Roll in small balls and place on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with bottom of small glass.
Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen

1 3/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup Crisco vegetable shortening 2/3 cup sugar 1 egg, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 1/3 cup maraschino cherries (drained and chopped)
Mix all ingredients together. Chill well.
WHEN READY TO BAKE: Preheat oven to 375 degress F. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
Roll into small balls. Place on prepared cookie sheet and flatten top.
Bake 10 minutes in 375 degree F oven. |
