some time. People are searching for this all over the net. When I have time I am planning on writing to a Japanese friend to see if he is familiar with it. I think that it is sometimes called Kogane-yaki also. (I think this means "Golden grilled".) I have also experimented with various egg yolk/oil or butter combinations at home. I thought (and someone also suggested) it might be Japanese mayo, but I tried it and it isn't. It is close to mayo however...I am working on it. If you do searches under egg yolk sauce or Japanese you may see various discussions of this but as of yet, no recipes. Check in from time to time to see if I've made any progress.
