Karen Maier, vice president of marketing for Frisch's restaurant, called me. (We're pretty good telephone buddies).

"The recipe for the Golden Corral Bourbon Street chicken clone that an 'employee' gave you is not correct. We don't use alcohol in any of our recipes, and the Bourbon Street portion of the name refers to Bourbon Street spices, like in New Orleans, not Jim Beam bourbon," she told me.

Frisch's is a Golden Corral licensee, and the recipe is proprietary. As always, Karen was gracious and we had a good laugh. Even though the recipe isn't authentic, it's still delicious. Now, if any of you have a great Bourbon Street spice rub for chicken, let me know...
