ISO: Cool Whip Icing from Krogers - not crisco based

I've never bought a cake from the bakery at Kroger but here's a recipe for Cool Whip frosting that I use often. Hope this helps.

COOL WHIP FROSTING

1 pkg. (4 serving size) instant vanilla pudding mix
1/4 cup confectioners sugar
1 cup cold milk
1 (8 oz.) container of Cool Whip

Combine pudding mix, sugar and milk in a small bowl. Beat slowly with a rotary beater (egg beater) or at lowest speed with an electric mixer until well blended - about 1 minute. Fold in Cool Whip.

For firmer frosting let mixture stand 5 minutes before adding Cool Whip.

Frosting should be refrigerated.

Makes about 4 cups or enough for 2 (9-inch) layers.
