Recipe(tried): A not too sweet onion dressing - more like Subway's

A NOT TOO SWEET ONION DRESSING

I tried the sweet onion dressing found all over the internet. I found it too sweet and thick and not oniony enough. I added a half cup of water. It lost its zing. I played around and came up with this. Far more like Subway's.

1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup finely diced yellow onion
3 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 tsp. cider vinegar
2 tsp. balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. poppy seed
1/4 tsp. salt
4 to 5 grinds of fresh black pepper

In a blender or processor puree all ingredients until onion disappears.

Microwave for 2-3 minutes.

Cool, pour into a shaker bottle. Yes, it does separate when cool, but a shake or two gets rid of this.
