I ate at Boots and Kimmo's recently while on vacation and loved their sauce. I found
the recipe listed here but since my husband has some minor dairy issues, I needed to modify it.
I used evaporated skim milk in place of the cream and whole milk. I also used powdered sugar in place of the granulated regular sugar for a lighter, creamier texture. It turned out great!
I would also recommend making the sauce without the nuts then adding the nuts at the end as a topping, not part of the sauce.
