Doris, I assume you do not mean the patties of hashbrowns. A lot of restaurants use a dehydrated product, but you probably cannot find this. To make hash browns like I think you mean, you can use leftover baked potatoes (or boiled), then chill them in the refrigerator, peel and and grate. They need to be very chilled to grate. Then fry them on a griddle sprayed with pan spray, drizzle with a little margarine and turn over when brown. I hope this will work for you!
