Sherry, having also lived in Akron to enjoy those burgers I have never tried it but heard a long time ago that they fried the hamburg in maple syrup!! Maybe that and vadalia onions, with the correct pickle, mustard and bun can achieve half-way good results. Nothing compares though. Good Luck
