last week i had a wonderful dinner w/ my girlfriend. we both are on a budget, so, to find a cheap, yet romantic dinner took some thinking. we finally came up with one of the most delicious menus ever. it's stuffed shells w/ ground turkey. i know that ground turkey isn't the most appealing, but it was incredible.

the recipe:
one box of shells.
4 oz. of shredded mozzerella cheese
6 oz. of ricotta cheese
1 egg
1 pkg of ground turkey
fresh basil
garlic

while the shells are boiling, cook the ground meat. when the meat is about finished, throw in chopped garlic (don't let it burn, it'll taste bad!)

now is the time to pre-heat oven to 350.

take out the shells and place them on wax paper to let them cool off. while they are cooling off, mix the cheeses, meat and egg together. add fresh basil to the mix and salt to taste. stuff the shells.

place sauce on bottom of a cooking pan (a thick one). place the shells across the pan and add sauce on top. sprinkle some parm cheese on top - adds a little flavor.

place it in the oven for about 40 minutes and voila, you have yourself a fine little romantic dinner. you can also make it ahead of time, but the cooking time will be longer (add another 20 minutes).

oh, and don't forget to get a really good loaf of bread and good olive oil to dip.

and the wine - your best bet is a merlot - try jekels.

good luck!
