APPLE BROWN BETTY
QUANTITY 1-2
INGREDIENTS
1 tbls butter
1/3 c fresh breadcrumbs
2 tbls brown sugar
dash salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 med cooking apple
1-3 tsp sugar
½ tsp lemon juice
TOOLS
Saucepan
small shallow casserole
PREP
Peel & core apple, chop
PREHEAT 375
DIRECTIONS
melt butter in saucepan,
remove from heat
add soft breadcrumbs, mix well
combine brown sugar, salt & cinnamon
lightly mix in buttered bread crumbs
put apple in casserole
add sugar, lemon juice & 1/4 of the crumb mixture.
mix well, pat down in casserole.
Sprinkle remaining crumbs evenly over top.
Bake 45 minutes until apples are tender
& top is browned.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipping cream
