Hi Debbie. Congratulations on your purchase. I have a couple of thoughts. I have covered a couple a bathroom sink bases in the past.

So you do not have to sew, you might look for some valance curtains to use as your covering. They will already have the hems and the headers sewn for you. They come in a variety of sizes, colors and patterns. Some have prints, some are plain. Also, some fabric stores have some nice lace-like valance fabrics that already have heading holes that can be used.

The technique you will use for attaching the fabric to the sink can vary according to the sink structure. I hope I can explain this so it is clear.

Some wall-mounted bathroom sinks have a "lip" under the base, and your curtain can be mounted inside the underside lip. You could run elastic or cording thru the heading of the valance. If you use elastic, you will not have to stretch it tight--you will just be using it to support the valance. To attach it under the lip, you could use adhesive hooks or even double-sided tape.

If your sink does not have the lip, you will then be mounting your curtain/drape on the outside of the sink. I would definitely use strong elastic inside the heading of the valance in this case. I would securely attach the elastic to the wall on each side of the sink and stretch the elastic quite tight. You might also use a few small adhesive-backed hooks to help keep the valance in place.

You might also consider buying extra of the same fabric and using it on your bathroom window or as a valance over the tub enclosure or mirror.

I look forward to ideas posted by others. And, please let us know what you decide to do. It is nice hearing back. Kelly
