Been on vacation, saw your request, a little late to help, but maybe next year if you survived this year!
- The turkey works out great like the reply you received. Also, the ham can be baked and sliced with your sauce on a cooking sheet, and then reheated.
- I always make spinach dip - looks pretty for the holidays and is sooo good! Day before!
- Make a batch of marshmallow creme fudge, always for gatherings! Day before!
- Make rolls the day before or purchase Costco or Sam's rolls, they are great!
- Make a jello salad, day before!
- Mashed potatoes will work the day before if reheated in microwave!
- Gravy is good reheated, i have made my yams the day before, they just get better.
- I make my pie crusts two days before, so I can be ready, at least make up your dough, or buy some, or have your guests contribute. None of my family can bake! Nor do they have computers to read this! Ha
PUNCH Make a punch the day before
2 frozen cans (6 oz each) cranberry juice concentrate, add water 1 (12 oz) can pineapple juice concentrate 2 (2 liter) 7-up Keep refrigerated, can add 7-up the next day, if desired.
SWEETENED ICE TEA Make the day before.
1/2 cup of dried Lipton only tea leaves (or 8 to 10 tea bags) Place in coffee filter, pour thru 3 pots of boiling water. I use 1 1/3 cups sugar, pour tea water over sugar in a one gallon pitcher, stir and refrigerate.
OVERNIGHT SALAD Delicious!!!! A must for holiday dinners!
Place in bowl as listed (large Tupperware bowl): 1 large head lettuce, chopped small 1 large head of cauliflower, small 1 medium sweet white onion, chopped 1 lb cooked bacon chopped, use cuisanart
Spread over top: 2 cups of best foods mayonnaise
Sprinkle on top: 1/4 cup sugar 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese Cover and refrigerate.
Mix really, really well just before serving! Place in pretty glass bowl.
Hope I've helped, I have 4 kids, and I do child care, and have to do the cooking, so I am always stressed, but love to cook.
