Have not tried this personally, but my mother made these EVERY holiday season. It is a very basic receipe -- flour, eggs, oil and sweet red wine. Unfortunately I have no specific measurements. Mom would just place a large amount of flour on a large surface; hollow out the center and start adding the remaining ingredients. When she had a workable dough, she'd divide the dough and hand roll strips about 8" long and maybe 3" wide; cut the 3" strip into three strips leaving about an 1-1/2" solid at the top. She'd then braid and seal the "cookie". After all the dough had been made up -- the cookies were deef fried and set aside. She heat up a large pot of honey and individually dip each cookied. What a sticky mess, but were they ever good!!!
