Recipe(tried): Struffoli (Italian cookie)

Misc.

Struffoli

4 c flour
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c crisco
1/2 c sugar
3/4 tsp baking powder
4 eggs
milk to moisten
oil to fry

mix dry ingredients, then add crisco as you would to make pie crust. add the eggs and vanilla and mix. add enough of the milk to make it like pie crust. do not overwork the dough but be sure it is smooth. roll into small shapes and deep fry. sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. this is my mother-in-law's recipe. have not made it myself, but have tasted her results.
