My wife and I did this recipe way back in the early 70's as a means (of all things) for making some Christmas money. It was, in fact, such a great recipe for fruitcake, that, with its periodic nurturing rum and/or brandy as a seasoning, we had a great demand. My reason to responding to this has to do with the mixed fruits. I have not had this book in my library since some time in the 70s, but I do remember that the candied fruits specifically were red and green cherries and red and green pineapple. This was a superior recipe (because I am one of those [rare} people who truly loves fruitcake.) Glad to have found it again.
