I FOUND MY AUNT'S TIN LAMB CAKE MOLD...WENT ON LINE AND READ EVERYONE'S HINTS. Then took the best ideas and used them like ...reduce water by 1/3...use bamboo sticks for support.....fill and back face down....bake 1 hour. I HAD SUCCESS MY FIRST TRY! YOU CAN TO....HERE IS HOW!
Sitting LAMB CAKE using Tin Mold 1- Coconut Box cake 1- Can white frosting 2- packages sweet Bakers Shredded Coconut Green food coloring 3- coffee beans - for eyes and nose 3- Bamboo Kabob sticks.
*Place Bamboo sticks in water to soak. *Preheat oven to 350 *Take mold and spray with Pam-making sure all areas are covered. Then flour mold. *Prepare box mix....short water by 1/3 cup *Pour cake mix into front part of lamb *Break off one bamboo stick and lay it down through the head of the lamb. This will help anchor the head. *Break off two pieces and lay them at an angle to support the two ears. Make them long enough to they get a good support into the head area *Place back of mold onto filled front part *Carefully place in 350 oven and bake for 1 hour *When done Remove from oven and cool 5 min. Remove back of mold. This will come off easily if you used enough Pam and flour to prepare your mold. *Allow to cool to touch *Take a very small, pointed paring kneif and go around and gently make sure cake is released around the edges. *Prop the lamb upright and support the back of his neck on a clean glass and let him cool further. *Take a fruit jar and place some white coconut in it. Add drops of green food coloring and mix up with a fork. This will give you your green grass to put around your finished lamb cake. *Frost Lamb and cover with white coconut *I always add a bow tie made from a cupcake tin liner. I fasten with a baggie tie so it can be pulled out easily when serving. ......A WALK IN THE PARK......A PIECE OF CAKE! ENJOY!!!!
