You can see these adorable sandwiches on the cover of the Nov/Dec 1997 issue of Crafting Traditions magazine. For 6 sandwiches, you need 12 slices of white sandwich bread (frozen), creamy peanut butter and jelly of your choice. While bread is still frozen, cut into Christmas tree shapes with a cookie cutter about 3-1/2 inches in size. Use a drinking straw to punch several holes into half the bread slices (like ornaments on the tree); set aside. Spread the other half of bread trees with peanut butter and then with jelly. Top with trees that have holes - the jelly shows through the holes and looks so cute! Use different colored jellies for different sandwiches for a nice effect. You can fill the holes with a little extra jelly using a pastry bag, if desired. Hope you like this idea ... I think I'm going to bring it to my son's preschool, too!
