The Betty Crocker Date Bar Mix was more than just a dessert in my family. My mother used it to make the ONLY fruitcake that I and my family would ever eat! I did find a date bar recipe in a holiday cookie book and will experiment with it next year to see if I can recreate the fruitcake somehow. BUT WOW have we been unhappy since the company decided to pull the Date Bar Mix. There's another holiday tradition gone the way of all things!
