THUMPRINT COOKIES
Ingredients: 1/4 cup Butter softened 1/4 cup Shortening 1/4 cup Brown Sugar (packed) 1 Egg seperated 1/2 tsp. Vanilla 1 cup all purpose Flour 3/4 cup finely chopped Walnuts Red and Green Jelly. Heat oven to 350o Mix together Butter, Shortening, Sugar, Egg yolk and Vanilla. Work in Flour until dough holds together. Shape dough by teaspoon into 1 inch balls. Beat Egg white slightly. Dip each ball into Egg white, roll in nuts. Place one inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press thumbs deeply into each center . Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately remove from sheet. Cool. Fill each center print with Jelly. (recipe does not call for greasing cookie sheet but I always spray lightly with Pam) I also like to add Jelly when cookie is a little warm as I find it stays better. The kids have also put candy kisses in center instead of jelly!
AUNT EVELYN'S BANANA PUDDING
Ingredients: 1 Package Vanilla Instant Pudding 2 Cups Milk 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 box Vanilla Wafer Cookies 1 8oz. carton Cool Whip 5-6 ripe Bananas
Mix Vanilla Pudding and 2 cups Milk. Add 1 can Condensed Milk and beat together. Add Cool Whip and beat.
In round serving bowl or square serving dish, line bottom and up sides with wafers. Slice Bananas and layer on top of Wafers. Top with pudding mixture. Repeat and end with pudding mix on top. Serves 6-8
