Maple-Nut Bread
Yield: 1 loaf
Source: Women's Circle Home Cooking.

2 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup maple flavored syrup
1/2 tsp. maple extract
3/4 cup chopped nuts

Sift together: flour,baking powder and salt. Add sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, syrup and maple extract. Stir till blended, beat 2 minutes on low speed of mixer. Stir in nuts, pour into a well greased 8-1/2x4-1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
