Breakfast Bars Makes 2-3 dozen bars
1/2 cup butter or margarine 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed 2 eggs 1/3 cup molasses 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 2 cups oatmeal 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1 cup raisins, dried cherries or cranberries 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces or chunks
Combine butter, sugar, eggs and molasses in a large mixing bowl. Stir together flour,soda,salt and cinnamon, add to first mixture and stir to mix well.
Stir in oatmeal, walnuts, raisins and choclate pieces. Spoon into a greased 13x9 inch baking pan and bake in a 400 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or till done. Cut into bars to serve.
