Pizza crust dough 1/2 pound pizza sausage 1 cup onion -- chopped 2 tomatoes -- chopped 1/3 cup tomato paste 1 teaspoon basil -- crushed 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme -- crushed 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese -- shredded 1 egg -- slightly beaten
Prepare pizza crust dough as directed. cover; let rise in a warm place.
Cook sausage, onion till meat is browned and vegetables are tender. Drain, combine next 5 ingredients and 3 tablespoons water. Stir in meat mixture. Divide dough into 6 pieces. Cover let rest 10 minutes. On floured surface roll each into 8 inch circle. Spoon 2/3 cup meat misture ont half of each circle; Sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese. Moisten edge of dough with mixtue of egg and 1 teaspoon water. Fold in half; seal edge by pressing with fork. Prick tops; brus with remaining egg mixture. Bake on greased baking sheet 375 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - NOTES : Add mushrooms, peppers, or other favorite pizza toppings before sealing crust!
