Ivy's Applesauce Cake rec.food.cooking/Linda Shoup (1995)
This is an applesauce cake recipe (my mom's) that my family loves. It makes a 9x13-inch cake.
1/2 cup butter or margarine 2 cups sugar 2 eggs
Mix the above, in order. In another bowl, sift together:
2 1/2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp. allspice
Mix dry ingredients to butter mixture, alternating with:
1 1/2 cups applesauce
Finally, add:
1/2 to 3/4 cup raisins 1/2 cup pecans, if desired
Spread in prepared 9x13-inch pan, bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Cool in pan. |
