Chocolate Rounds with Quick Chocolate Frosting rec.food.cooking/Barb Gibson (1998) Makes 4 dozen
Double chocolate cookies --- both flavored and iced with chocolate.
1/2 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tbsp water 2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, melted 2 cups Bisquick baking mix 1 cup chopped nuts Quick Chocolate Frosting (below)
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla, water and chocolate. Stir in baking mix and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes. Cool and frost with Quick Chocolate Frosting
Quick Chocolate Frosting: Blend together 1 cup confectioners sugar (also called icing sugar), 1/4 cup cocoa and 2 to 3 tablespoons water.
