Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
Yield: 4 Servings
Source: 1001 Snacks, Gregg R. Gillespie

1/4 lb lean ground beef
1 onion; chopped
1 tb all-purpose flour
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Dash hot pepper sauce
1/2 c water
1/2 c chili sauce
1 16 oz. can pork and beans
4 hamburger buns; split
2 tomatoes; chopped
1 red onion; chopped

In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat, stirring, for 6 to 8 minutes or until no longer pink. Discard the fat. Add the onion and cook, stirring for about 5 minutes longer or until the onion softens. Add the flour, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, water, chili sauce, and pork and beans. Simmer, covered, for about 10 minutes or until heated through. Toast the hamburger buns. Spoon the Sloppy Joe’s mixture over the buns and serve garnished with tomatoes and red onions.
