1 cup shortening 1/2 cup butter or margarine -- softened 2 cups packed brown sugar 1 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon salt 28 ounces fun-size Milky Way candy bars
In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening, butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Roll into 1 1/2-inch balls. Cut each candy bar into fourths. Push one portion into the center of each ball, completely covering candy with dough. Place 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown and surface cracks. Remove to wire racks to cool.
