GRILLED STEAKS WITH GRILLED ONIONS

4 beef ribeye steaks (about 1 1/2 pounds), cut 1 inch thick
2 large early sweet onions (14-16 ounces each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 lime, quartered

Seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper

In small bowl, combine seasoning ingredients. Divide mixture evenly and press into both sides of beef steaks. Brush onions with oil. Place onions and steaks on grill over medium ash-covered coals. Grill steaks, uncovered, 11-14 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness and onions 15-20 minutes or until tender, turning once. Season onions with sale and pepper. Trim fat from steak and serve with grilled onions. Squeeze lime over steaks and onions.
