Splenda Iced Tea alt.support.diet/Melissa/2001
I make this all the time, and even my kids and hubby cannot tell it is made with Splenda.
For 1 gallon:
Boil 2 quarts of water and pour into a gallon pitcher. Add 8 teabags (I use Lipton Decaf tea) and 4 teabags of Celestial Seasonings Peppermint tea. Let this steep for about 4-5 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea.
Remove the tea bags, squeezing out the water. Add 3/4 of a cup of Splenda, then add ice to fill the pitcher up. Use ice water if you don't have enough ice. Stir it up until most of the ice is melted and serve. If you use 1/2 boiling and half very cold water or ice, your tea won't be cloudy.
When I used to make this with sugar, I used a whole cup of sugar, but less of the Splenda seems to sweeten it about the same.
My kids drank some one night and didn't realize it was Splenda tea, which is a good test of how good it tastes. Back when I tried Equal, no one would touch it, including myself. The Splenda works very well in homemade Lemonade too.
