Chinese Chewies
1 cup self rising flour 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1 cup dates 2 cups nuts 1 tsp vanilla or rum flavoring 1/3 cup melted butter
Mix flour, sugar, dates and nuts together. Beat eggs then put eggs and butter together with other ingredients. Stir in vanilla. Spread in oblong pan (mixture will be stiff).
Bake at 325 for 35-40 minutes until lightly browned on top. Cool and cut in squares. These could be made in balls or sticks and then bake. Enjoy!!!
