Nutty Crumb Apple Pie

9-inch single pie crust, uncooked

Topping:
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine

Filling:
4 to 5 large apples, peeled, wedged, and then cut in half to chunks .
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves

Make topping:
Mix nuts, flour, and sugar. Cut in butter or margarine.

Make filling:
Measure 4 cups prepared apples. Mix with other filling ingredients. Pour into pie shell. Cover filling with the topping.

Bake 10 minutes at 400.

Reduce temperature to 325 and continue cooking 30-40 minutes longer.
