Recipe(tried): Grandma's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

This is a recipe I have had for years, passed down from my mother. You will love it!!

Combine and bring to a boil:
1/2 cup milk
1 cup sugar

Stir in:
1 tsp. baking soda

Remove from heat and stir till smooth. Cool.

Mix together:
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg

With a pastry blender cut in:
1 cup butter

Add cooled milk mixture and mix well.

Refrigerate overnight, or at least 3 hours.

Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Decorate.
