FUDGE CARAMEL BROWNIES
1 box German Chocolate cake mix 3/4 cup melted margarine 1 small can carnation evaporated milk (5.33 ozs.) 1 (14 oz.) package light colored caramels 12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the caramels with 1/3 cup of the milk. Set aside.
Mix cake mix with the remainder of the milk and the melted margarine. Pour 1/2 of the cake batter into a greased 9x13x2-inch pan.
Bake in a 350F oven for 6-8 minutes.
Remove from the oven and drizzle melted caramels, then chocolate chips, and finally the nuts. Cover with the rest of the batter (if too stiff, add 1 Tbsp. of milk)
Bake at 350F for 25 minutes.
Cool just to lukewarm before cutting.
