Flemish Carbonades
3 pounds boneless beef chuck, cut into 1-inch cubes 1 onion, thinly sliced 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 2 teaspoons brown sugar 1 clove garlic, minced 12 ounces beer 2 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled 3 tablespoons cornstarch 1/4 cup water Cooked noodles In a slow cooker, combine meat, onion, salt, pepepr, brown sugar, garlic, beer and bacon.
Cover and cook on LOW 5-7 hours or until meat is tender.
Turn to HIGH. Dissolve cornstarch in water. Stir into meat mixture.
Cover and cook on HIGH 20-30 minutes or until slightly thickened. Serve over noodles.
