Oriental Chicken Wings
2 pounds chicken wings 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/3 cup dry sherry 2 Tablespoons lemon juice 1/3 cup light corn syrup 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Remove wing tips and reserve for the soup pot. Cut wings apart at joint. In a skillet, brown wings on both sides in oil. Remove wings with a slotted spoon; pour off excess oil.
Stir garlic, soy sauce, sherry, lemon juice, corn syrup and ginger into skillet. Add wings; bring to boiling. Lower heat; cover; simmer, turning wings once, for 20 minutes or until chicken is tender.
Remove cover; raise heat; cook 10 minutes longer, stirring frequently, or until sauce thickens and wings are nicely glazed. Garnish with lemon.
